The Community Emergency Management Committee
All municipalities are subject to emergencies. In Elliot Lake, forest fires, electrical failure, human health emergencies, ice and sleet storms are examples of emergencies, which we may face.
In recognition of the leading role the municipality will play in the event of an emergency requiring the coordinated response of both municipal and non-municipal resources, the Council has adopted an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for the City of Elliot Lake. The Emergency Response Plan has been developed in order to facilitate a timely and effective mobilization of resources in order to respond to an emergency. Every official, municipal department and agency are prepared to carry out assigned responsibilities in an emergency.
Elliot Lake is committed to emergency planning. Elliot Lake's Community Emergency Management Committee ensures that the municipal Emergency Response Plan and associated supporting plans and procedures are in place.
Elliot Lake's Emergency Plan has been prepared to provide key officials, agencies and departments of the City of Elliot Lake with important response information related to:
- Arrangements, services and equipment, and
