Clean-up week provides an opportunity for homeowners in Elliot Lake to deposit household waste materials at the landfill site at no cost.   Building, construction, and demolition materials, large tree stumps and non-household related items will be charged at regular landfill tipping fee rates.

NOTE:  All non-collectables are to be disposed of by the householder at his or her expense in such a manner as indicated by the Province of Ontario, or as the Director of Operations for the City of Elliot Lake from time to time will direct. Hazardous waste is to be identified as per WHMIS Regulations for Hazardous Materials, and the Ministry of Environment Guidelines.

The City of Elliot Lake By-law #05-74 governs garbage disposal. Failure to comply with this by-law could result in a fine of up to $5 000 on a first conviction, and $25 000 on a subsequent conviction. Corporations will be fined as high as $50 000 and $100 000, respectively.
