Elliot Lake is a well connected community. Transportation into and around the City is superior to most communities of the same size.
Highway 108 links Elliot Lake to the Trans-Canada Highway. The 30 kilometre (18 mile) stretch from the City to Hwy 17 was completely resurfaced in the late 1990s and is a smooth and scenic drive. Elliot Lake is within a two hour drive time of Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie - major urban centres with worldwide connections for passenger and delivery transportation.
The community has an excellent local public transit system. Transit service is provided by municipally owned and maintained 40 foot, fully accessible buses. In addition to the accessible regular bus system, passengers with special access needs have the option of calling for the Handilift bus service. In Elliot Lake 95% of residences are within a 5-minute walk of a bus stop.
