Winter is upon us and one discovers quite quickly after living in Elliot Lake that we truly have the best of both worlds. Elliot Lake offers a complete inventory of recreational opportunities and amenities that one would expect in a much larger city, but with the comfort and safety of a smaller community.  No traffic, no lineups or crowds, and the beauty of nature ever present in our backyards.

Hopefully all residents plan to take full advantage of the leisure facilities and programs offered in our community. Whether your interests are participating in a program at the municipal pool/gym complex, enjoying our ski hill, snowmobile trails, outdoor rinks, or taking advantage of the myriad of trails by cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling within our boundaries, maintained by dedicated groups and organizations, one will find whatever recreational pursuit they desire in Elliot Lake.

The vitality of our residents is part of what makes Elliot Lake such a great place to live, get involved, get healthy, and stay fit and I encourage each of you to take advantage of all that we have to offer and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle.

So get out there, BE WINTER ACTIVE and enjoy the unsurpassed quality of life in Elliot Lake today.  Take advantage of the programs and facilities that we are truly blessed with having. And don't forget to thank a city staff member or volunteer when you see them, they keep our leisure time options wide and varied, and of the highest quality, on our behalf.
