Mayor's Message
It's Spring
.new life and new beginnings for so many things in our "Jewel in the Wilderness "! On behalf of Council, I am thrilled to INVITE you to read through the 2010 Elliot Lake Spring & Summer Recreation & Leisure Community Guide, where you will find an abundance of interesting things to do, a calendar of festivals and events, programs and workshops, tips on ACTIVE / healthy living, and information on the many services that are available, and typically offered in communities, much larger than ours.
We encourage you to PLAY. Take time to WALK our trail systems, enjoy the scenery, and EXPLORE our environment and fauna. Add boating, canoeing and fishing to your ADVENTURE. Be sure to have your camera ready. The golf course is excellent and the deer plentiful. VISIT your Library - INCLUDE your neighbour. Enroll your children in one of our summer FUN camps. Spend a great summer evening enjoying music in the park.
2010 commemorates the City of Elliot Lake's "55th Anniversary" and we are busy planning events to observe our past and showcase our future. We are going to CELEBRATE and we want to see you there!
There are many highlights in this issue that we know you will ENJOY! We encourage you and your family, to make the most of Elliot Lake this season, and we invite you to EXPERIENCE and explore the "jewel" we call home ! Yours truly, Rick Hamilton Mayor.
