Need Assistance with a Community Project?

The Corporation of the City of Elliot Lake's Youth Advisory Committee can also review applications for funding youth related activities. One of our goals is to help young people working with community partners and organizations who want to create opportunities and events that enhance the social, cultural and recreational life of young people in Elliot Lake. We especially encourage applications from young people and we are willing to assist them with the application process.

The types of projects that can be funded by the Youth Advisory Committee are projects that:

  • Benefit as many young people as possible, that is either a social, cultural or recreational event or activity
  • Show a variety of community partners can be working together. These partners may include clubs, youth, local businesses, schools, organizations, and other interested individuals
  • Are realistic, achievable, and show that the community partners have the ability to really make it work
  • Show that someone will be responsible for supervising events, and monitoring budgets.

Additional Information Regarding Project Funding:

Because we want to be able to support as many projects as possible, we prefer that your request be limited to no more than $2000.

Funding cannot be used for the payment of ongoing salaries or rent.

The money can be a loan if you are planning to use it as "seed money" for a fundraiser. If your fundraiser makes money, you must pay back the amount you borrowed to get it started.

Once your project is over, you must provide the Youth Advisory Committee with a financial report showing where/how the money was spent, remember KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS.
