Fishing

| Fishing is one of the biggest reasons that people come to the Elliot Lake area and with good reason. We have more than 4,000 lakes in the region, and dozens of them, some over 300 feet deep, carry the largest stock of lake trout in Ontario. You can also expect to catch speckle and rainbow trout, bass, northern pike, whitefish, walleye and perch. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| The environment is fresh, clean and free from pollution and the scenery is some the most beautiful and unspoiled in Canada. We even have a local fish hatchery to stock up the lakes' natural supplies. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| You'll find boat launches on many of the lakes, and a number of outpost camp operators who organize fishing trips to the more remote lakes that are inaccessible by car. They would love to fly you in to these remote areas.
So if you're fully equipped, head for the water and enjoy one of the greatest fishing trips of your life. For information on licenses, regulations, seasons, gear and limits check out the Ministry of Natural Resources publication entitled "Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary" |
